Sermo is a simple messaging app that translates messages into each user’s preferred language.
Information Sermo Uses
Sermo uses the name you enter, your preferred language, a randomly generated device ID, a device secret stored on your phone, and a push notification token when notifications are enabled.
Messages
Messages are sent through Sermo’s relay so they can be translated and delivered to the intended recipient. The relay may temporarily queue messages for delivery. Chat history is stored on your device.
Translation
Sermo processes message text through translation services so the recipient can read messages in their chosen language. Translation quality and availability may vary.
Contacts
If you grant contacts permission, Sermo uses your contacts locally to help you start conversations. Sermo does not upload your address book.
Deleting Data
If you delete Sermo from your phone, your local app data is removed from that device. You can also contact support to request removal of relay registration data associated with your Sermo ID.
Children
Sermo is not intended for children under 13.
